    A handbook for the militant atheist, Sam Harris’ short book provides all the ammunition needed to dismantle Christian beliefs.  He underscores the hypocrisy of the bible while providing a valid argument for the morality, honesty and humility of atheism.  
    With a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of California, Harris spends his time as a non-fiction writer, neurophilosopher and proponent of scientific skepticism, advocating the reclamation of rational secular humanism. Letter is a New York Times best seller as was his first book, The End of Faith: Religion, Terror and the Future of Reason.

    Raised as a Catholic, attending only parochial schools and becoming a priest, Ketter left the church to spend the final one third of his 75 years questioning the doctrine and its indoctrination.  He now lives in Chillicothe, Missouri, and attended one of our meetings.
    The faults he finds in Christian religion in general and the Catholic Church in particular, the questions about life, love, sex and funerals, and the answers he discovered fill a gentle, 60 page book.  This ex-priest does not preach.  He simply outlines the facts, gives contrasting views and says simply, “Think about it.”
